About the speaker
Craig M. Crews, PhD, is the John C. Malone Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and holds joint appointments in the Departments of Chemistry and Pharmacology at Yale University. He is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the field of targeted protein degradation and the inventor of PROTAC (Proteolysis-Targeting Chimeras) technology, a transformative technology that enables the selective degradation of disease-causing proteins, including previously undruggable cancer targets.
Prof. Crews received his B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Virginia and his PhD in Biochemistry from Harvard University before joining the Yale faculty in 1995. His research has been instrumental in establishing the field of chemical biology and advancing innovative approaches to therapeutic intervention.
Beyond academia, he has founded several biotechnology companies, including Proteolix, Arvinas, and Halda, which have translated fundamental discoveries into therapeutics for hundreds of thousands of cancer patients worldwide (so far!). In recognition of his pioneering contributions, Prof. Crews has been honored with numerous international awards. Prof. Crews has had an extraordinary impact on science and medicine.
