D.Dudas: BEACON: An Open-Source AI Tool for Interactive Segmentation in Radiotherapy Planning and Radiological Image Reading

Seminar: Data Science and AI at the Medical Faculty

Dear colleagues,

We are glad to announce the July iteration of our Data Science and Artificial Intelligence seminar at the Medical Faculty.

The seminar will take place on Friday, July 31st at 10:00. We will have the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Denis Dudas together with medical students Ann-Christine Baltner and Paul Wiegel from the Adaptive Radiation Therapy (ART) Lab of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the LMU University Hospital. They will present "BEACON: An Open-Source AI Tool for Interactive Segmentation in Radiotherapy Planning and Radiological Image Reading".

BEACON is a BZKF-supported, open-source tool for AI-assisted interactive image segmentation. The speakers will introduce the tool and demonstrate two clinical applications: accelerating target volume and organ-at-risk delineation for radiotherapy treatment planning, and supporting lesion segmentation during radiological image reading. The tool is openly available at https://github.com/LMUK-RADONC-PHYS-RES/beacon.

We hope to see you there!

Best regards

Guillaume, Michael, Kristian, Solveig and Björn
